Amherst College, one of the premier liberal arts colleges in the nation, enrolls approximately 1,600 young men and women in undergraduate programs. In 2000, the college began a two-year study to analyze the current and future needs of students living in the residential program. From the resulting Residential Master Plan, BVH initiated a detailed site utility infrastructure study. The existing infrastructure at Amherst College, which supports every facility on campus, contained systems dating back 50 to 100 years. BVH's study identified existing condition and capacity for all systems, including: steam, condensate, chilled water, water, fire, sanitary, storm, electrical and communications systems.   Integration Showcase focuses on a project where comprehensive and integrated services benefited a major infrastructure project. The many advantages of having a single source include: a broader perspective, closer coordination, and ongoing familiarity with optimal solutions.
